An anomalous condition of the intracranial nervous system structures. Anencephaly is the developmental lack of the cerebral hemispheres, often resulting in embryonic or neonatal death.
Age of Onset: Present at birth
Sex Predisposition: Any sex of dog can be affected
Clinical Course:
​Embryonic or neonatal death
Clinical Signs:
Posture and Appearance  
Hypoplastic calvarium
Thickened flattened skull base
Shallow orbits
Protruding eyes

Movement 
Limb Paresis

Proprioception  
Abnormal 

Cranial Nerves
Decreased menace response
Decreased facial sensation
Intracranial - cerebrum
